Day 1 - Welcome to Beijing!
Check in to the Peninsula where an upgrade to a Grand Deluxe Room awaits. Their luxuriating treatments offer the perfect way to refresh and rejuvenate after a day of travel or sightseeing.

Day 2 - To the Great Wall #WHS# and back
After breakfast, we take you to the remote Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. With fewer visitors and stunning scenery, you’ll have a more authentic and rewarding experience. You can ride the cable car or make the ascent to the Wall on foot; either way, our attentive guide will make sure you have plenty of time to savor the thrill of walking atop this ancient structure. Sit down to lunch in the historic Schoolhouse Restaurant and return to the city to explore by rickshaw through one of the city’s rapidly disappearing hutong districts. Meals B,L

Day 3 - Explore Beijing and fly to Xian
Behold the imposing grandeur of Tiananmen Square and tour the magnificent halls, courtyards and pavilions of the Forbidden City #WHS#. For lunch, we’ve arranged for you to dine at the prestigous Courtyard Restaurant, set in an imperial building of the Qing Dynasty. Take an afternoon flight to Xian where you’ll be escorted to the luxurious Shangri-La Hotel. Meals B,L

Day 4 - Visit the Terra Cotta Army... And board your luxury ship
This morning you’ll visit the remarkable 2,000-year-old Terra Cotta Army #WHS# and Xian’s ancient city walls. A late afternoon flight brings you to Chongqing where the all-balcony MS Yangzi Explorer awaits. Meals B,L,D

Day 5 - Ashore to explore the “Ghost City” of Fengdu
Alight in Fengdu to tour its ancient temples. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon of scenic cruising or join in the ship’s cultural program... you might learn about traditional Chinese medicine or see a demonstration of the arts. Meals B,L,D

Day 6 - Through the Three Gorges and up Shennong Stream
This morning your ship navigates into Qutang Gorge, the narrowest of the Yangtze’s Three Gorges, and then through Wu Gorge. Later, journey by traditional sampan up one of the Yangtze’s most scenic tributaries into an unforgettable mountain landscape. Meals B,L,D

Day 7 - Visit the Three Gorges Dam and fly to Shanghai
Visit the Three Gorges Dam before disembarking in Yichang. Fly to Shanghai and transfer to the luxurious Peninsula Shanghai, where you will be upgraded to a Deluxe Garden View Room. Meals B,L,D

Day 8 - Out and about in Shanghai
Extensive full day sightseeing featuring Yu Yuan Garden and the Shanghai Museum is punctuated with delightful dining... A traditional dim sum lunch in the trendy Xintiandi district and a farewell dinner at Lost Heaven, an atomospheric restaurant on the Bund renowned for it’s fine presentation of exotic Yunnan cuisine.
