Day 1:
Board your overnight transpacific flight.

Day 2:
Arrive in Tokyo, Japan. Welcome to Japan! Your hotel room is available for mid-afternoon check-in.

Day 3:
Tokyo. This morning’s tour includes visits to the Tokyo Tower, Asakusa Kannon Temple, Nakamise Shopping Arcade, and a pearl gallery. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. (B)

Day 4:
Tokyo. Explore Tokyo on your own. (B)

Day 5:
Tokyo–Beijing, China. Today, fly to Beijing. (B)

Day 6:
Beijing. This morning, enjoy a sightseeing tour to the Great Wall of China, which once stretched 4,000 miles across China’s barren northern terrain. Walk along the wall and enjoy stunning views of this mammoth fortress. Return to Beijing and enjoy the afternoon at leisure. (B)

Day 7:
Beijing. Today, enjoy a full day at leisure for independent discoveries. (B)

Day 8:
Beijing–Xi’an. Fly to Xi’an, an archeological treasure trove in central China. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. (B)

Day 9:
Xi’an–Guilin. This morning, marvel at the Terracotta Warriors that have been standing guard at the tomb of China’s first emperor, Qin Shi Huangdi, for over 2,000 years. Later, fly to charming Guilin. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. (B)

Day 10:
Guilin. Today, cruise on the tranquil Li River and be transported far from modern civilization. Mystical mountains surround you as you pass rice paddies, fishermen on bamboo rafts, and water buffalo grazing in the river. Return to Guilin for time at your leisure. (B,L)

Day 11:
Guilin–Shanghai. Today, fly to Shanghai, China’s premier center of trade and industry. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. (B)

Day 12:
Shanghai. Your morning guided sightseeing tour includes time to stroll along the Bund and a visit to the Shanghai Museum, featuring stunning displays of ancient bronze, jade, and ceramics. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. (B)

Day 13:
Shanghai. Explore Shanghai on your own. (B)

Day 14:
Shanghai. Depart Shanghai. Your homebound flight arrives the same day. (B)
